Hallsville’s Slaten has scoreless outing

Hallsville’s Chandler Slaten had a scoreless outing on the mound Tuesday, but the Red Sox fell to the Texarkana Twins 3-2 in game one of their best-of-three playoff series.

Slaten pitched three innings, allowing just two hits and striking out four batters. He also walked two batters.

The Red Sox took an early 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning, but the Twins tied the game in the top of the second.

Red Sox lose

The Twins took the lead for good in the top of the fourth inning, scoring two runs off of Red Sox reliever Landon Beaty.

The Red Sox had a chance to tie the game in the bottom of the seventh inning, but they left the bases loaded.

The Red Sox will look to even the series in game two on Wednesday.
