Paramount Pictures has announced the official release date for Gladiator 2, the highly anticipated sequel to Ridley Scott's legendary 2000 film. The epic historical drama is set to hit theaters on November 22, 2024.
The original Gladiator, starring Russell Crowe, was a critical and commercial success, winning five Academy Awards including Best Picture. The sequel will reunite Scott with original cast member Connie Nielsen, who will reprise her role as Lucilla, the sister of the late Emperor Commodus.
Joining Nielsen in the cast are Paul Mescal (Normal People) as Lucius, the son of Maximus and Lucilla, and Pedro Pascal (The Mandalorian) as a new character named Cascius. The film is said to follow Lucius as he seeks revenge for the death of his father and the destruction of his family.
